Val d’Or Grand Pavilion, a design based upon the magnificent pavilions erected at “The Field of Cloth of Gold”, the name given to the location in France where King Henry VIII of England met with King Francis I of France between the 7th June – 24th June 1520. Pavilions of all shapes and sizes were constructed from canvas and decorated with expensive fabric woven with silk and gold thread, giving rise to the name “The Field of Cloth of Gold”. Although we do not use cloth of gold on the Val d’Or we do still finish all of our tailored tents in an “age-old” handcrafted way.

Val d'Or Grand Pavilion

This unique tailored pavilion was produced for the Camp Bestival event at Lulworth Castle in Dorset on the weekend of the 30th, 31st July and 1st August 2010. The pavilion was supplied for Smiffy’s fancy dress and was the centre of attraction in the Castle Field, Kid’s Garden area at this year’s Lulworth event.
